Types of Domestic Flooring
Wool Carpets
Very popular type of flooring and their natural fibres make them very durable. Wool carpets come in natural colours and are suitable to create a traditional and stylish finish. They are normally made of a high percentage of wool and a combination of nylon or polypropylene.
With a short and dense pile these types of wool twist carpets are very hardwearing and suitable for high traffic areas.

Twist/looped Pile Carpets
Both types begin with a looped pile and in twist carpets the loops are cut and tightened as oppose to looped pile carpets where all the loops are left uncut.
Twist pile carpets are todays most favourite/popular carpets. Casual, fashionable, durable and soft, they give rooms a fresh/updated look.
Twists carpets are offered in multi colour ranges and the higher the twist level the better their performance.
Looped/Berber carpets are ideal for stylish design and texture. They are extremely durable, practical and superior at maintaining long term appearance. Unlike twist carpet they hide footprints well.
Saxony/Velvet Carpets
Made with long tufts of yarn that make up the deep pile and loosely twisted at the base. The yarns on the Saxony carpets are twisted in different directions to give a two-tone look.
Saxony carpets come in a different variety of finishes – smooth, silky, shaggy and luxurious looks, and are very much loved for the plush feel under barefoot.
Velvet carpets are a mix of Saxony and woven carpets, with a short, uniform and dense pile. Velvet carpets are made of very fine yarns and are suitable for not so high traffic areas and lower footfall.
They can be made of polyamide, polyester, wool or nylon for an improved durability.
